Alumni are always welcome to visit the campus of The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH), and if you haven’t been here in awhile, you’ll find pleasant surprises in how the campus has grown and evolved.

Make your visit easy by first contacting the UAH Office of Alumni Relations by email at alumni@uah.edu or by calling 256-UAH-ALUM (824-2586). Your Alumni Association can help with directions, connect you to campus resources including Salmon Library and University Fitness Center, assist with Wi-Fi access, and even set up a permanent alumni email address to keep you connected with all of the latest alumni happenings and any events scheduled during your visit.

"We welcome all of our alumni back to their alma mater," says Mallie Hale, senior director of Alumni Relations and executive director of the Alumni Association. "If alumni will contact us first, we will be happy to help them with their visit."

Before arrival, Hale also highly recommends a visit to the UAH website and a look at the Alumni web page.

"You’ll find a lot of information on campus updates, upcoming events, and all of the benefits of alumni membership on the website," she says.

All UAH graduates are automatically free members of the Alumni Association. There are no dues, and presenting your alumni card can get you a variety of benefits and discounts.

"We are making it even easier for you to access these benefits through our new electronic membership card," says Hale. "Alumni can download the UAH Campus Life app and open the Alumni Association guide to view an electronic membership card. Show it to our campus partners when you visit UAH to take advantage of some of the perks of being a UAH alum."

Of particular interest to visitors may be the alumni discount that’s available at the on-campus Bevill Conference Center and Hotel, with 100 guest rooms and the Gardenview Café. A stay at the Bevill earns you a complimentary pass to the University Fitness Center, as well.

Alumni also get 10 percent off each Wednesday at any campus retail dining location, and 10 percent off Monday through Friday at the Charger Café in the Conference Training Center.

While planning your visit, check the UAH Events Calendar to see about campus happenings. If you can, catch a screening at the UAH Association for Campus Entertainment (ACE) Friday Flicks or Sunday Cinema at Charger Union Theater. Alumni can watch a flick for just $2, including complimentary popcorn, soda and water.

"Bring the whole family and give future Chargers a taste of what lies ahead!" Hale suggests.

Alumni also receive a 10 percent discount at the UAH Bookstore, where you’ll find UAH apparel, computers, books and more.

"There have been a lot of really great changes to the campus as UAH has grown, and our alumni who haven’t been on campus in awhile have a pleasant treat in store for them," says Hale. "One thing that hasn’t changed is the university’s delight in welcoming alumni back to their UAH home. Your Alumni Association is interested in you, and we want UAH to be a continuing part of your life. We look forward to your visit soon!"
