The girls, from around the state of Alabama were selected after a competitive application process, to attend Alabama's first Tech Trek camp, to be held on the UAH campus July 20-25.

On Saturday, June 14, the girls will have a chance to "meet and greet" one another and learn more about their coming camp experience at the university. The event will be held in Charger Union from from noon to 2 p.m. Please direct inquiries to Rhonda Gaede, camp director and UAH associate professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, at Rhonda.Gaede@uah.edu.

Tech Trek, developed by AAUW, is a week-long residential summer camp for middle school girls,  featuring hands-on learning activities in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields.  Through Tech Trek, girls are immersed in a world that empowers and encourages them to think about themselves as future scientists, engineers, mathematicians, and computer specialists.
