UAH, PTAC to sponsor annual Business MatchMaker event

The University of Alabama in Huntsville's (UAH) Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) will hold the seventh annual Business MatchMaker event on Thursday, Oct. 29, at the Jackson Center in Huntsville (6001 Moquin Drive). The keynote speaker for this year's event will be Kris McGuire, Founder and CEO, of Victory Solutions, Inc. The event begins at 7:15 a.m., with registration and breakfast, followed by an 8 a.m., address by McGuire.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., until noon, one-on-one sessions will begin for System Award Management small business contractors attending the session. Business owners will discuss potential contracting opportunities with participating contractors and federal agencies. Area businesses are scheduled individual 12-minute increment sessions to present their capabilities.

The cost for the MatchMaker session is $75 per person and includes a continental breakfast buffet and snacks during session breaks. Pre-registration is required to secure attendance at this year's event. The UAH PTAC provides services including determining potential for government contracting and required registrations for the following Northeast Alabama counties: Cullman, DeKalb, Jackson, Limestone, Madison, Marshall and Morgan.

Kris McGuire founded Victory Solutions in 2006 to provide a range of proprietary aerospace products and engineering technical services to the Department of Defense, NASA and commercial customers. The company has received numerous awards and honors recently such as "Best Places to Work" (2015), Boeing Performance Excellence Award (2014), and the Department of Defense's prestigious Nunn-Perry Award with the Boeing Company for Victory Solutions Mentor/Protégé relationship supporting the Missile Defense Agency (2014).

McGuire demonstrates her involvement in the Huntsville community holding memberships on numerous boards including the Alabama Fourth District Tennessee Valley Corridor, the Women's Business Center of North Alabama, and the National Space Club-Huntsville.
