The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) will host the fifth annual International Festival (iFEST), Saturday, Sept. 27, from 9:30 a.m., to 5 p.m., at the University Fitness Center.

The event is co-hosted by the International Society of Huntsville and is open to the public with no admission charge. The University Fitness Center is conveniently located on the UAH campus directly across the street from the Intermodal Facility (500 John Wright Drive N.W.)

The iFEST 2014 chair is Josia Fiore ('03 BA International Trade and Foreign Languages), former director of operations at Fiore International, Inc. The festival co-chair is Dr. Belinda Ong, director of Reference and Information Services at the UAH Louis Salmon Library. Ong also serves as the president of the International Society of Huntsville.

The one-day family friendly event features cultural performances, the parade of nations and an international open air market, showcasing international food vendors, crafts and arts, and food trucks (adjacent to the UFC, connecting to Holmes) beginning at 11:30 a.m. There will be free activities for children and college students, and a free international dessert sampling. Additional activities include global performances such as folk dances and performance of traditional instrumentals to ethnic songs.
