UAH to host fourth annual “Peace on Earth” holiday spectacular Dec. 2

The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) is proud to announce that its fourth annual "Peace on Earth" holiday spectacular will be held on Friday, Dec. 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the VBC’s Mark C. Smith Concert Hall.

This year’s gala celebration of the arts is headlined by Grammy-nominated a capella group Committed, best known for winning NBC’s "The Sing Off." And as always, the show will feature joyous holiday classics performed by faculty and students of the UAH Department of Music, the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, the Huntsville Community Chorus, and the U.S. Army Materiel Command Band – not to mention an entertaining reading of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas by Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle!

"Since 2013, our mission with ‘Peace on Earth’ has been to deliver a traditional holiday program…with a twist! From Broadway star Ivan Rutherford to country music legend Lee Greenwood, each year our guest artists help us reinvent the show, making it a uniquely different experience for the audience and performers alike," says Dr. Dave Ragsdale, chair of UAH’s Department of Music. "Last year, Act of Congress thrilled the audience with their new-grass virtuosity, and this year, a cappella sensation Committed will take us in a completely new direction with their signature sound and Huntsville roots. It’s going to be an amazing night for the entire Huntsville community!"

Tickets to the event, which is sponsored by Hewlett Packard Enterprise, are $10 for general admission, with all proceeds going to benefit UAH’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.
