Musicstar Recording Studio is one of four software components in the Musicstar Music System. Also included in the package are a 37-key miniature MIDI keyboard controller and a MIDI cable to connect to a PC joystick port. The other three software components are reviewed separately. This program, designed for elementary and middle school students, emulates a multitrack tape recorder. The student can record as many as three MIDI music tracks, one MIDI percussion track, and one digital audio track. the tempo of the MIDI tracks can be adjusted after recording them, as can the transposition of the three MIDI music tracks. Songs can also be saved and loaded at a later time.
