Music Ace, which includes an animated conductor who reads all of the instructions, is appropriate for preschool and early elementary school children. Twenty-four lessons covering introductory music theory and ear training are included, with a game that reinforces each lesson. The material covered includes pitch matching, timbre, the grand staff, keyboard layout, whole steps and half steps, sharps and flats, key signatures, and scales. In the Introduction to the Staff lesson, the conductor explains the relationship between high and low notes then shows a note and asks the student if it is high or low. All student interaction is accomplished with the mouse.
