Making Music

Making Music, the predecessor of Making More Music, is intended for preschool and elementary students. Like the later program, it allows the student to compose music by painting, with different colors representing different sounds. The melodies can be constrained to one of several different scales including major, minor, pentatonic, and chromatic. The Building Blocks module presents phrases as animal blocks that can be rearranged and matched with blocks from other animals. The Mix and Match module and the Melody and Rhythm Maker module allow the student to create a melody and a rhythm independently of each other, then combine them. The Games module includes four games that require the student to listen and identify phrases as being the same or different, and higher or lower.
