An example of creative music software for preschool and early elementary school students, Kid Riffs lets children compose music using the computer keyboard and mouse. All of the music is based on short musical riffs that can be varied according to the names of each of four different houses: Instrument Inn, Scale Shack, Rhythm Room, and Mirror Mansion. Personalized riffs recorded in these houses are then pasted together in the Concert Castle.
