First Notes for Violin

First Notes for Violin is designed to teach preschool and elementary school children to associate note names and notes on the staff with finger positions on the violin. There is a drill aspect to the program that asks the student to indicate which note sounds in a particular finger position, or which finger position is required to sound a particular note. Additionally, the student is encouraged to write melodies and scales, and then to play them along with the computer while it shows the note names and finger positions.
