The UAH Pep Band
represents the athletic arm of the UAH Band Department. This
high-spirited organization performs at UAH Charger Hockey and
Basketball games and various other events across campus and
throughout the Charger community. The UAH Pep Band rehearses
throughout the semester on Sunday evenings in Roberts Recital Hall.
The band is currently seeking members. If you are interested in
membership in the Charger Pep band contact the director,
Ryan Sutton.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Who can join?
Any student at UAH who has high school band
experience can join the Pep Band. Most of the Pep Band members are
non-music majors.
Do I have to audition?
Auditions are held primarily for part
placement. 99% of people who audition make the Pep Band. If you
can play, then come on and join!
What is the attendance policy?
Pep Band members are expected to be on time at
all rehearsals and performances. Absences must be excused by the
director at least one week prior to an event.
Where/when does the Pep Band play?
The UAH Pep Band plays at home hockey and
basketball games, as well as campus and community events.
Does it cost money to join?
NO! In fact, pep band members can earn
scholarship money for their service to the pep band.
When does the Pep Band rehearse?
Before the season starts, the Pep Band
generally rehearses on Sunday nights to learn the music. Once the
music is learned and the season starts, rehearsals are no longer on
Sunday nights—the rehearsals will consist of meeting before the game
to check any spots in the music. |
