| Composers are invited to submit scores
for the second annual UA Huntsville New Music Festival to be held
Thursday, February 4, 2010, at the University of Alabama in
Huntsville. Composer-in-Residence for the Festival will be Pulitzer
Prize-winner Joseph Schwantner, whose appearance is made
possible as part of a Ford Made in America grant to the Huntsville
Symphony Orchestra. The Festival will include three concerts and a composer luncheon with a presentation by Joseph Schwantner. Composers are encouraged to provide their own performers. UA Huntsville faculty, students, and friends are also available with standard orchestral instruments, piano, and voice. Additionally, the following UA Huntsville ensembles will consider compositions for performance at the festival:
