The UAH Latin Jazz Ensemble went on a study-abroad trip to Havana, Cuba, for one week in March, 2004. The trip allowed us to learn about Cuban music and the profound effect it has had on jazz. We had rehearsals each day with outstanding professional Cuban jazz musicians, and ended the week with performances in a jazz club and a concert hall in Havana, with the Cuban musicians as guest soloists.
