Ingrid von Spakovsky holds a Masters degree in Piano Performance from the University of Illinois, Urbana, where she studied with Joel Shapiro, William Heiles, and Soulima Stravinsky. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Music with Mary Elizabeth Whartenby at the University of Alabama in Huntsville with highest honors and studied on scholarship with Heinz Scholz at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Currently on the piano faculty of the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Ms. von Spakovsky maintains an active private studio and is on the roster of New York artists' representative Gina Crusco.Ms. von Spakovsky is also part of the Consonare guitar-piano duo with guitarist Phil Weaver. This duo has been performing together for over ten years with concerts in the Midwest and Southeast. In the Spring of 1993, Consonare performed a series of concerts in England sponsored by the Nonsuch Guitar Society, and they were interviewed live on the BBC. In 1995 they performed concerts in New York, including the Chamber Music Series at Hofstra University on Long Island and St. Paul's Festival of the Arts. A digital recording of Consonare, entitled "Music for Guitar and Piano", is available on the Max-Pei label. |
