Lauren Carter has been a clinician at Alabama Music Teachers Association Conventions and an adjudicator for district and state-level competitions in Alabama and Tennessee. She is a member and has held offices in organizations such as the Huntsville Piano Teachers Forum, The Huntsville Music Appreciation Group, National Guild of Piano Teachers and Alabama Music Teachers Association. In addition to teaching, she has given recitals in numerous states and is an active accompanist. She was also a participant in the Van Cliburn Third International Piano Competition for Outstanding Amateurs in Fort Worth in 2002. She states. "I want my students to learn, love and appreciate music. My goal is to make them musically independent. Not all of my students are going to be music majors or professional musicians. I just hope they are learning fundamentals which will enable them to learn music on their own and give them great pleasure in their lives.". |
