Mary Balch is an adjunct professor of music at The University of Alabama at Huntsville, where she teaches classical saxophone. She is active as an adjudicator for Alabama Bandmasters Association, clinician, chamber musician, and soloist. Mrs. Balch holds a Master’s degree in woodwind performance from The University of Georgia. She was a student of Dr. Theodore Jahn, clarinet, Dr. Kenneth Fischer, saxophone, and Dr. Ronald Waln, flute. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in music education with honors from The University of Montevallo, where she was a student of Dr. Lori N. Ardovino. A freelance musician in northern Alabama, she regularly performs with various community groups, theater productions and is active in her church, The Brook. Mrs. Balch has kept a studio for the last ten years and currently teaches at several locations around the Huntsville area. |
