AREA V - Pre-Professional, Major, and Elective Courses (19-23 SH)

Students must take 12 SH from the courses listed below:
HIS 201 U.S. History I
HIS 202 U.S. History II
and any 3-6 SH of History Electives

Students should take a second 6 semester hour sequence in History in addition to the sequence satisfying the Area IV requirement. (For example, a student taking 6 hours of World History under Area IV, should also take a six-hour sequence in U.S. History.)

Students should also take 6 semester hours of Electives.

The remaining hours must be selected from additional courses which are approved general education courses within Areas II and IV. No more than six hours may be taken in any single discipline, with the exception of foreign languages. Students are strongly encouraged to balance coursework among the social sciences group, the humanities and fine arts group, and foreign languages.
