AREA V REQUIREMENTS FOR HISTORY
Students should take a second 6 semester hour sequence in History in
addition to the sequence satisfying the Area IV requirement. (For example,
a student taking 6 hours of World History under Area IV, should also take a
six-hour sequence in U.S. History.)
Students should also take 6 semester hours of Electives.
The remaining hours must be selected from additional courses which are approved
general education courses within Areas II and IV. No more than six hours
may be taken in any single discipline, with the exception of foreign
languages. Students are strongly encouraged to balance coursework among
the social sciences group, the humanities and fine arts group, and foreign
languages.
