Students planning to major in Communication Arts must complete the following:

1) An AGSC approved speech or communications studies course from AREA II (3 SH/5 QH)
2) An additional speech or communications elective course (3 SH/5 QH)
3) An additional 3-6 SH (5-10 QH) in AGSC approved history courses from AREA IV.

The remaining hours in AREA V must be flfilled by selecting additional courses which are approved general education courses within AREAS II and IV. No more than six hours may be taken in any single discipline, with the exception of foreign languages. Students are strongly encouraged to balance coursework among the social sciences group the humanities and fine arts groups and foreign languages.

Grand totals for AREAS I-V: 96 QH/ 60-64 SH

Note: for institiutions requireing 120 semester hours for graduation the maximum allowable hours for transfer from a community college into a four-year baccalaureate degree program will be 60 semester hours.
