Also known as the Riley Guide, this comprehensive and well organized list of job links includes information on how to use the Internet in your job search. Find information by profession or geographic area. Look for government positions or international opportunities. Coop education, internship, and summer job information is also available.

Center for Career Opportunities

From Purdue University, a listing of over 1000 online job search resources. Its "Job Search Sites on the Web" section is one of the largest lists of job resources on the net and is updated regularly.

Career Magazine

This online magazine has great articles, lots of job postings (many drawn from usenet newsgroup job announcements), and a free resume bank. You'll also find information on colleges, on-campus interviews, job fairs, interview preparation, and a "Jobnet Forum" for discussion with others.

CareerMosaic

Another comprehensive site, has job and career information, employer data, resume posting, and more. One of the best Web search indexes for job related newsgroups and for lists of current job openings. A favorite with first-time job seekers.

Job Options

Provides a wide variety of job search information--position listings, resume posting, employer information, etc.

JobWeb

A gateway to career information for both recent graduates and experienced job seekers, sponsored by the National Association of Colleges and Employers. Includes guidance on aspects of career choice and career planning such as resumes, cover letters, interviewing, and employer information.

Monster.com

This site is tops with many college job seekers. You can post your resume as well as use the excellent search engine to browse job listings by company name, job title, industry, or location.

This one site will link you to dozens of Web pages where you can post your resume. Divided into two tables listing free and fee-based resume Web services and indicating the subject focus if any; whether resumes are open to public viewing; how long retained on site; and the format of presentation used.

JOB OPENINGS

America's Job Bank

A service of the U.S. Dept. of Labor, this site connects almost 2000 state employment offices and over 200,000 job openings nationwide in a broad range of occupations from professional to clerical. The search engine is somewhat cumbersome but it's worth the time to browse here. Also has links to individual state employment agencies.

CareerPath

Search over 200,000 job ads placed in major newspapers across the U.S. in the last two weeks. Free but you must register to use. Remember that classified ads traditionally are not the most effective way to find job openings, nor are they usually targeted to entry-level job seekers.

Job Bank USA

Specializes in providing career information including job and resume database services to job candidates, employers, and recruitment firms in the U.S. and worldwide.

JobTrak

A job listing service partnering with college and university career centers. Jobs are targeted to both students and alumni.  It is also an excellent site for links to homepages of organizations regularly hiring college educated professionals and for summer jobs and internships.

Alabama Employment and Opportunities

Chronicle of Higher Education Career Network

Contains the electronic version of the Chronicle's weekly classified ads for positions in higher education ranging from admissions/financial aid/student services to faculty/teaching to provost/president. Probably the best site for higher education job seekers.
