legoslide

On October 22, 2016, the Salmon Library will co-host its first ever LEGO build competition (in conjunction with the wonderful Tennessee Valley LEGO Club). Entries are open to all UAH students who want to compete. The theme this year is "weird science" (take that as you will). If you are interested in this event, contact Annie Matthys at annie.matthys@uah.edu. Entry forms will available at the User Services Desk in the library lobby week-of-event.

If you just want to show up and look at the entries, all are welcome to attend the event, even those not competing.

The rules of the event are as follows.

  1. Builds can be done by individuals or teams.
  2. If competing as a team, please provide a team name on the entry form.
  3. One submission only per individual or team.
  4. Please note that teams will be competing for a single prize.
  5. Individual entries will not be permitted for team participants.
  6. All participants must be currently enrolled students at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
  7. Each participant (including those participating within a team) must submit an entry form the day of the event. All entries will remain anonymous until judging is completed.
  8. Design must reflect the theme “Weird Science.”
  9. All entries must be original creations (known as MOCs). No assembled LEGO kits will be accepted.
  10. Individuals and teams must provide their own LEGO® brick for their build (it will not be provided by the Salmon Library).
  11. Supplementary/non-LEGO® materials can be incorporated into your build within reasonable limits.
  12. LEGO® Technic are allowed to be used.
  13. No special access to electrical outlets will be provided.
  14. Entries must arrive ready to be displayed: minimal to no on-site construction should be required.
  15. Entries must be delivered to the M. Louis Salmon Library between the hours of 1:00 pm -2:00 pm on Saturday, October 22nd. Viewing and judging begins at 2:30 pm, with winners being announced at 3:30 pm. Decisions made by our panel of judges are final.

The judges will be made up of Salmon Library staff and members of the Tennessee Valley LEGO Club.
