Charged Up For Change! EXPO at UAH highlights the work of individuals and groups making positive local and global change. Come enjoy a unique experience of art, music, science and technology, cuisine, activism, athletics, dance, and all the other countless ways people in Huntsville make a difference. EXPO is April 1, 2015, 10 AM-2 PM in UAH's University Center.
The purpose of the event is to encourage students and others who visit EXPO to see how they can get involved in many of the activities in the community and on campus, or how they might use their imaginations to find their own path to create social change in unusual ways. Visitors will also learn about the importance of understanding and embracing diversity in order to foster change most effectively. Exhibitors and visitors will be able to network and exchange ideas. Local musicians, actors, and performance artists will contribute to the carnival-like atmosphere, as will refreshments, door prizes, and other creative surprises. Admission is free and open to the public.
EXPO is sponsored at UAH by the Women's and Gender Studies Program, the Office of Diversity, the Office of Student Affairs, the College of Liberal Arts, the Global Studies Program, and the Office of Multicultural Affairs. EXPO is organized by a diverse group of UAH faculty, staff, and students, as well as community volunteers. Entertainment is coordinated by Anna Sue Courtney of the Flying Monkey Arts Center.
