The sociology program at UAHuntsville is designed to provide the student with a broad understanding of the social processes which influence our lives. This understanding is achieved through in-depth analysis of contemporary social issues, problems, and the study of social organization. Sociology provides insights into the workings of family, friendship, community groups as well as economic, educational, religious and political institutions. It is an integral part of any Liberal Arts education. The study of sociology requires curiosity, an analytical mind, and a willingness to read, question, and investigate. |
