Cindy Small arrived at UAH following Hurricane Katrina in 2005. A native of New Orleans, she graduated from Tulane University with an undergraduate degree in Journalism and Masters in Historic Preservation Studies. Before moving to Huntsville, Cindy worked for LSU Medical School and Tulane University as a residency coordinator. She currently resides in Decatur, AL and spends her spare time as a non-fiction writer as well as volunteering with Big Brothers/Big Sisters. She has had two memoirs published thus far, in America's Funniest Humor Book Three.
