Lisa Schneider is an adjunct professor of music at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where she teaches applied oboe and woodwind quintet. She joined the faculty in 1994. Prior to that, she was Assistant Band Director and Woodwind Specialist for the Rolla Public Schools in Rolla, Missouri. She holds a master’s degree in oboe performance from the University of Illinois-Urbana/Champaign, where she studied with Blaine Edlefsen. She also holds bachelor’s degrees in music education and performance from Southeast Missouri State University. Ms. Schneider has performed with the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, Huntsville Chamber Winds, and numerous other area ensembles. She maintains a private studio, and her students include winners of the Huntsville Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition and members of the Alabama All-State Band.
