I came to The University of Alabama in 1990. My publications in criticism include The Healing Female in the German Courtly Romance (Göppingen 1990), Arthurian Literature and Christianity: Notes From the Twentieth Century (Taylor and Francis 1999) and German Literature Between Faiths, Jew and Christian at Odds and in Harmony (Lang 2003). I sing in the choir at Saint Thomas Episcopal (http://stthomas-hsv.dioala.org/worshipinggod/music.html) and Temple B'nai Sholom.
My poetry appears in such places as Friends Journal, Modern Haiku and The Christian Century. 12 Nuclear Peace: A Musical Utopia, my play envisioning one way to a warless world (while trying to rehabilitate the concept of utopia), received a dramatic reading at UAH in 2006.
My teaching includes language and literature courses in German, and, taught in English, the departmental film course and (through the Honors Program with Daniel Schenker) The Bible in Later Literature.
