Internships

Two students giving thumbs up.

Two UAHuntsville students interning in Barcelona, Spain, took time out to explore the mountains outside of the city.

Students who major in Spanish or FLIT are required to complete an internship. This enables students to apply their intercultural and linguistic skills outside of the classroom. You can choose to intern locally or abroad. Locally, students have interned with a variety of local companies specializing in a variety of areas, from translation to international trade. Our Spanish Interns have worked throughout Spain and Latin America; from engineering firms in Pamplona and language schools in Barcelona, to day care centers and television stations in Mexico, and coffee companies in Puerto Rico. You can work with the department internship coordinator, Karl Keller, to develop an internship that corresponds to your interests and goals. Contact Mr. Keller for more information and for internship applications (karl.keller@uah.edu).
