UAH Students in England

Photography was officially invented in 1839, or was it? This summer the Experimental and Historic Photography class will travel to England to experience the places and early techniques that contributed to the invention of photography. William Henry Fox Talbot of Wiltshire England actually worked on a process that preceded the invention of the Daguerreotype in France. Students will study his process, silver nitrate calotypes, as well as other historic methods at Talbot's home in Laycock Abbey. Students will also spend time in London and even visit Stonehenge! The course concludes with a special exhibit of the students' work here on The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) campus.
