Support Services provides Network Services and Systems Support to UAHuntsville Research, Academic and Administrative operating units.
Network Services includes support for the specification, construction, maintenance, security and operations of remote and local internet activities. Systems Support provides system administrators and computer users with a variety of services that include troubleshooting, installation, configuration, conversion, procurement, security and other system management assistance.

Information Security: The Information Security Officer is responsible for setting policy and best practices for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of University data. The Information Security Officer works with Network Security and the Research Security Administrator to educate University computer users on best practices and to investigate and correct information security issues.

Instructional Technology and Academic Computing: The UAHuntsville Instructional Technology and Academic Computing Department provides leadership and support services to instructors of both traditional and distance education courses. The department supports the ANGEL Learning course management system and the Wimba communication suite and provides services such as management of online surveys, application training, smart-room training, and instructional design.
In support of UAHuntsville’s mission, the goal of the Instructional Technology and Academic Computing Department is to provide technical and pedagogical support of instructional technology tools in order to promote a successful teaching and learning environment.
