History of the Honors Program
The Honors Program at the University of Alabama in Huntsville was established for freshmen during the 1989-1990 academic year. The first graduates were in the spring of 1993. There are currently around 400 students in the Honors Program, distributed proportionately among all colleges. The number has grown steadily since 2007. Honors students comprise about 6% of the student body.
Since the Program's inception in 1990 (with first graduates in 1993), there have been 223 graduates in the Honors Program, 208 Honors Diplomas and 15 Honors Certificates. Here is the chart of graduates since 1993.
