Honors Mentor Meeting & Special Speaker
The Honors Mentors will be holding our last meeting of the semester on November 11 at 2:00 pm in the Charger Village MPR. Dana Gillis, the Director of Compliance at Alabama A&M, and also a former FBI agent, will be coming to speak with mentors about leadership and what that word really means. It is STRONGLY encouraged that mentors attend this meeting. Snacks will be provided!

Alabama Collegiate Honors Council Conference
We are looking for student volunteers who would like to attend the Alabama Collegiate Honors Council Conference in Montogomery on February 22-23, 2013. This is a great opportunity to interact with other Honors students in the state and gain some valuable leadership experience within the Honors Program! NEW MAE and Communications Spring Courses
We will be offering 2 new courses this Spring: Honors Intro to Rhetoric (CM 113) and Honors Thermodynamics Colloquium (MAE 495). See the course listing for details.

The Honors Program Student Council will be sponsoring a trip to Monte Sano State Park on November 17. Students will meet in the UC parking lot at 10:30 am and will carpool to the park. Bring your own picnic! Everyone should be returning around 2:30 pm.

Huntsville Music Chamber Guild Tickets
There are still tickets for the "Parisii quartet" performance on November 16, 2012. The concert starts at 7:30 pm and will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church on Airport Road in Huntsville. Pick up your free ticket in the Honors Office (Morton Hall 336). One ticket per Honors student. You can check out the HCMG website for more events.

Huntsville Botanical Garden's Galaxy of Lights
The HPSC is looking for 12 volunteers to help with the Huntsville Botanical Garden's annual Galaxy of Lights. They are planning on volunteering on November 27. Volunteers will work as greeters, parking attendants and pedestrian crossing facilitators. Free admission to volunteers! Contact Hannah at hab0007@uah.edu if you are interested in helping!
