As part of the Honors Program's emphasis on critical thinking and analytical reasoning, students will explore several issues, chosen from academic disciplines and popular culture. Through team discourse, inquiry, and presentation, students will (i) gain critical thinking skills as they are exposed to differing arguments on an issue and (ii) gain some of the skills needed to recognize and put forth ideas that are legitimately supported. The course is intended as an adjunct to the Honors Lecture Series for a small group of students who are interested in more discussion and interaction than normally provided through exposure to the Honors Lectures. Enrollment is limited to 18 students.
