Celia H. McKechnie, ALC Counselor, UAH Counseling Center Biography Celia is an Associate Licensed Counselor under the supervision of Elizabeth Howell, LPC-S. In addition to being an employee of The University of Alabama in Huntsville, Celia is also an alumna, earning her Master’s Degree in Experimental Psychology in December 2005. She worked for several years in a variety of settings including as a Behavioral Therapist with children on the Autism Spectrum, as an In-Home Family Counselor with Youth Villages and as a Mental Health Clinician with at-risk youth at Three Springs Paint Rock Valley outdoor residential treatment center. Celia later returned to school to get a second Master’s Degree, this time in Counseling Psychology from Alabama A&M University in December 2013 so she could pursue licensure with the state of Alabama. She has recently worked in Inpatient Substance Abuse Treatment at Bradford Health Services and in outpatient Opioid Replacement Therapy at Huntsville Recovery, Inc. before joining the UAH Counseling Center in September 2014.
