What is Annual Giving?
Each year, UAHuntsville colleges, departments, and programs contact their alumni and friends in order to raise annual operating funds to support their ongoing work. In general, annual giving programs provide deans, department chairs, and directors with unrestricted funds that can be invested in student scholarships, special services, projects, and emerging opportunities. Donors also are encouraged to designate their gifts in support of the individual college, department, or program of their choice.
What is a Fund for Excellence?
A Fund for Excellence, sometimes called an enrichment fund, is a fund designated by an individual college, department, or program to receive gifts that are given without any restrictions on their use. Unrestricted gifts are critically important because they enable the president, deans, department chairs, and directors to invest the funds to meet highest priority needs. Donors are welcome to contribute unrestricted gifts to either: 1) UAHuntsville, or 2) the individual college, department, or program of their choice.
