Cedrus deodara 'Aurea' - Golden Himalayan Cedar

Family - Pinaceae

Size - 15 to 20 feet in height. Branching is somewhat open, horizontal, and irregular. Slow growing. Habit is somewhat similiar to the species. Tends to develop that "flat topped look" at a much younger age.

Foliage - Similiar to the species however, 'Aurea' has new foliage that is a golden yellow which highlights the tops and ends of the branches. The color is prominent throughout the season.

Flower/Fruit/Seed -

Bark - Gray, smooth

Pests and Diseases - None noticed

Landscape Use - Specimen use. Needs full sun for best color development. Could be integrated in to the smaller landscape since it's ultimate height is smaller, and it's growth rate is so much slower than the species.
