Proposal and Grant-Writing Training for all UAH Faculty, Staff, Researchers and Graduate Students
Sponsored by the Vice President for Research and Economic Development, the Office for Proposal Development is hosting Proposal and Grant-Writing Training that will be held in the Student Services Building, Room 313 on Thursday, September 21st and Friday, September 22nd. These seminars will feature grant-writing and proposal-development strategies for NSF, U.S. Department of Education, NIH, and Humanities and Social Sciences.
Registration is open to all UAH faculty, staff, researchers and graduate students. Please note, registration will close on Wednesday, September 13th. *Registration is required.

These workshops will be presented by Dr. Robert Porter who has over 30 years’ experience as a tenured professor, private consultant and research administrator. His proposals have won more than $8 million in awards from government agencies and private foundations. Dr. Porter, formerly Director of Research Development at the University of Tennessee, has also taught at Virginia Tech, Swarthmore College, Susquehanna University and Eastern Washington University. He holds a graduate degree in Speech and Communications from the University of Michigan. A national leader in the growing field of research development, he has presented papers and workshops on grant-writing at national and international conferences and has published prize-winning articles in the Journal of Research Administration and Research Management Review.
