"Cholera Dynamics - Modeling, Analysis, and Simulation"

DATE:       Friday, November 18, 2016

TIME:       3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

PLACE:    Shelby Center 218

There will be an overview of research projects on mathematical modeling of cholera dynamics, joint work with several collaborators and graduate students. Cholera is a severe water-borne disease that remains a significant public health burden in developing countries. The transmission of cholera includes both direct and indirect routes, and involves complex biological, environmental and socioeconomic factors. I will present several models based on systems of differential equations and summarize their analytical results. I will discuss modeling frameworks in both homogeneous and heterogeneous environments. In addition, I will present some numerical simulation results to validate the analytical predictions.

Refreshments will be served at 2:30 p.m. in SC 201 suite landing.
