At this hands-on workshop Dr. Gordon Telepun will present & demonstrate how to photograph a total solar eclipse.

Attendees are invited to bring a:

  • Tripod
  • Camera with telephoto/zoom lens -- just FYI, he says the optimal is 900mm (35mm equivalent)
  • White light solar filter (to practice timing) -- he recommends this for actual use since it's convenient for quick removal
  • Remote shutter release
  • Optional -- 90 degree eyepiece adapter
  • Optional -- compas
  • Optional -- solar viewer or glasses

Dr. Telepun, in addition to being a plastic surgeon, is the author of the Solar Eclipse Timer, which will be used during this seminar. You can see more on Smarter Every Day.
