About the Ceremonies

The Fall Commencement ceremonies will be held in Spragins Hall on December 18 and 19, 2009.

December 18
  • Ceremony will begin at 7:30 p.m.
  • All graduating students are requested to participate.
  • Students should arrive no later than 6:30 p.m. in full academic regalia and report to their designated assembly area.
  • Special Commencement Speaker: Dr. Kristina M. Johnson, Undersecretary of Energy
  • The presentation of PhD, DNP, and Masters degrees
  • Conferring of the Bachelors' degrees
December 19

Presentation of the Bachelors' Degrees

10 a.m. Ceremony
  • Colleges of Business Administration, Liberal Arts, and Nursing
2 p.m. Ceremony
  • Colleges of Engineering and Science
Students will need to arrive at Spragins Hall one hour prior to their college's designated ceremony. Guests, family members and spouses are not permitted in the assembly or robing areas and should go directly to the basketball arena.

Tickets Required for Admission to Commencement
  • Tickets will be required for all family and guests attending the ceremonies on both December 18 and 19, 2009.
  • Dates to pick up tickets - December 1-11, in Charger Central, UC 118 during regular business hours.
  • If you cannot pick up your tickets:
    • A family member or friend may pick up your tickets with a signed letter from you and their photo ID.
    • Or you may email the Registrar, Janet Waller at wallerj@uah.edu to make arrangements.
    • Tickets will not be mailed.
  • After December 11, tickets that were reserved but not picked up will be redistributed to students who desire extra tickets.
  • Extra tickets will be available for pick up December 16-18, in Charger Central, UC 118 during regular business hours. Extra tickets will be limited per student.
