This year’s percentage of females was lower than last year’s (66% this year, 74% last year), but comparable to both Atlanta (68%) and National (70%). Response rates continue to show the dominance of women in the technical communications field.

However, salaries are not truly comparable unless job function and experience are factored in. Our data sample is too small to make those comparisons meaningful.

Salaries for both male and female respondents increased from the 2000 Huntsville survey (see below), but both are lower than the national salary averages.
