"Designing An Exemplary Course" is an open course which provides both theoretical concepts and practical tools for instructors to recognize, organize, and build online courses for both blended learners and online learns. The course will provide a framework for participants to use the Exemplary Course Rubric to self-evaluate their course-building work, as well as to ask others in the course to provide peer reveiws.
Course objectives include identifying the pillars of an exemplary course, gaining practical knowledge about incorporating specific pillars into one's course, applying the pillars to construct the basic framework for an online course, and providing opportunities for collaborative peer review of online course components and strategy.
The course will be taught over a four week period starting on September 26, 2012 from 1 to 2 pm. Each session will be guided by one of several highly qualified Exemplary Course Instructors. Participants will hear from previous course winners who will demo their courses. Each session will conclude with a Q&A.
