SUBJECT: Physical Therapy Internship

Dear Dr. Henderson:

Linda Castlebury, office manager at Best Rehab, informed me that a position in the physical therapy internship program will soon be available and encouraged me to contact you for an interview. As shown in my resume, I working toward a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Exercise Physiology, expected in May of 2005. I plan to go on for a master’s degree in physical therapy, to be completed in December 2006.  Through my experience as a student trainer and knowledge of Best Rehab, I am confident that I would have a lot to contribute through Best Rehab’s internship program, and that working with Best Rehab would be a strong asset for me as well.

During my work experience at the UAH athletic training room, I learned the importance of diagnosing injuries and introducing appropriate means of therapy for rehabilitation. Also, over the past three years, I frequently visited Best Rehab to talk to the physical therapists and become acquainted with the way a physical therapy clinic operates.  Best Rehab has impressive rates increasing clientele, and this encourages me to become a part of the Best Rehab staff.

My education at UAH includes several classes involving human anatomy and physiology, athletic training courses, first aid, CPR, exercise physiology, and kinesiology.  These enable me to learn and relate to physical therapy. I also have experience with using modulators such as ultra-sound machines and electrical muscle stimulation machines.

My enclosed resumes provides more details about my courses and experience. I would like the opportunity to discuss the Best Rehab internship program with you further. You can reach me on my cell phone at (256) 503-2957.

Sincerely,

Amelia Canter
