Rowing: a competitive sport of boats that are narrow.

What is Crew?

Whatever definition you like, crew is a sport like no other. Basically, it’s about a team of people working together to row in such a way to produce maximum speed. There is really no way to describe it unless you try it out for yourself. Crew is quite demanding, both physically and mentally, but is well worth the effort. The UAH Crew team is slowly rebuilding after winning national titles as a varsity sport in the 70’s and 80’s. Now a club sport, we currently have twenty-five returning members and are hoping to double in size this next season. Crew is a great way to meet people, get involved, and to challenge yourself while doing something rewarding and fun. We typically practice in the morning and have four regattas planned for the fall. Although getting up early can sometimes be rough, being on the water when the sun comes up is an amazing feeling. We are always looking for new people to join the team. No experience is necessary to be a rower or a coxswain. If you are interested or have any questions, please go to our contact page where you will find our team email and phone numbers. Hope to see you on the water!

If you are interested in joining the Crew Team send us an e-mail to crewteam@uah.edu

or contact an officer of the team
