What is the Counseling Center?
The Counseling Center is an office staffed by professional psychologists and counselors trained to help you discover ways to cope with problems in living. We support the educational process by assisting students in their academic, personal, and social development. Our staff has a commitment to meeting the needs of individuals from diverse backgrounds including differences of culture, race, gender, ability and sexual orientation.
Services are available for FREE to currently enrolled students.
Services are confidential and in accordance with the ethical guidelines of the American Psychological Association.

Mission Statement
The mission of the UAH Counseling Center is to provide the university
community with mental health services aimed at maximizing the personal
growth and development of its diverse members. These services are offered
to students and include a variety of curative, educational, and crisis
management activities.
Counseling Center services help students achieve their educational goals,
learn the process of problem solving, increase and enhance their capacity
for satisfying interpersonal relationships, and make full use of their
potential for continued growth beyond their educational experience. The
major activities of the Center include: individual and group counseling
services for personal and academic concerns, crisis management, and
consultation.
