Species List from Thesis Work

This work involved the investigation of the population structure of woody vines in a mature mixed mesophytic forest on the Western slope of a mesa dissected from the edge of the Cumberland Plateau, in Madison County AL. An area of one hectare was surveyed for tree species, and the vines associated with them. Then, analysis of the data was performed, showing that these vines do not occurr on tree species randomly. Not only were some species of trees more susceptable to vine infestation, but large trees were more likely to have vines on them than would be predicted from their size alone.
