Bhavani Sitaraman has been at UAH since 1993. Her areas of interest include
marriage and family, cross-cultural perspectives on gender, and social
demography. She currently teaches Statistics, Research Methods, and Introduction
to Anthropology. Her research addresses social change and its impact on policy
in the areas of marriage, family, and gender. Past research focused on the
politics of abortion in the United States, and current research examines
modernization and marriage change in India.
