"Dreams are never in the places we expect them to be." Find out why at a performance of Shirley Valentine at UAH on Saturday, July 25. Huntsvilles own Bette Yeager stars in this one-woman show about a British housewife who longs for adventure and finally gets her dream on a vacation to Greece. Its a funny and heart-warming play that inspires us all to live life to the fullest.
Lane Hosmer directs this theatrical gem, which was produced for Theatre 'Round the Corner and has been running there monthly since last August.
Bette Yeager is a veteran and an award-winning performer in this region. She studied with Tina Packer at Shakespeare and Company in Lenox, MA. Bette has taught young peoples theatre classes for ten years in Scottsboro, at UAHs Kids College, and as chair of the Drama Department at Randolph School.
The two-hour performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Exhibit Hall of the University Center on the UAH campus. Tickets are available at the door, and proceeds benefit the UAH Womens Studies program. It's open seating and no reservations, so get there early for a good seat!
