Dr. Norman teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in American literature, women writers, and professional writing.  In rotation with Dr. Julie Early and Dr. Laurel Bollinger, she teaches EH 418 Women Writers, which counts as a core course in the Women's Studies minor.  Her Women Writers course surveys writings by women from medieval to modern times.  The course includes works by such writers as Kate Chopin, Charlotte Brontë, Adrienne Rich, Toni Morrison, Virginia Woolf  and Zora Neale Hurston, as well as many lesser known writers.  Dr. Norman also teaches graduate courses on women's autobiography and Virginia Woolf, as well as Introduction to Women's Studies.  Her literary specialty is nineteenth-century American women writers.  She also directs the UAH technical communication program
