The hormonal shift in our cells truly signals a rebirth . . .

the only way out is through!

In this engaging 90-minute video, veteran film-maker Kathleen Laughlin has taken a circular look at menopause, from the very personal, to the new popular culture it has become; from the hidden stories of our mothers and ancestors, to the deeper connections between physiology and psychology.  She searches for and honors a universal mystery that is beginning to resonate about this 'change'--with menopause comes the power to effect transformation in our lives!

The heart of the video is the reconnecting with three life-long friends and their experiences with menopause.  Their insights are complemented by many personable and cogent interviews with writers, activists, artists and health professionals--25 diverse women in all.  These interviews--along with animated sequences, re-enactments of earlier memories recalling her own mother's 'change,' documentary scenes with her younger sister, and hauntingly beautiful images from the natural world--all collide in a surprising, humorous, and ultimately personal search to discover what this significant and mysterious passage is about.
