Professor Gramm joined the faculty at UAH in 1990. Her teaching and research specialties are in human resource management, employment law, and union-management relations. She teaches "Government Regulation of Employment Relations," an elective in the Women's Studies minor, which examines the rights and responsibilities of individual employees under federal and state laws governing employment relationships. A substantial portion of this course focuses on laws prohibiting discrimination in employment on the basis of sex and other immutable characteristics and on other areas of the law that have an important impact on women's work and family lives (e.g., Family and Medical Leave Act).
